Man On Moped Runs Afoul Of The Law

responded to these and other calls for service between Friday, August 3 and Sunday, July 5.

On Friday, August 3 at 8:10 a.m., a vehicle struck and broke off a railroad crossing gate on Broadway.
At 11:13 a.m., a woman reported that someone had thrown a rock through her window.
At 2:24 p.m., police took a report involving threats, although they determined that no crime had been committed.
At 5:06 p.m., an individual reported finding a wallet on Melvin Street. It was returned to its owner.
At 5:40 p.m., a citizen walked in to report his bicycle was stolen at the library.
At 10:42 p.m., police stopped a man on a moped at Albion and Bartley. Soon after, they arrested Eduardo  Brandao, 21, 216 Main Street Apt 5B, Woburn, for OUI Drugs, failure to stop for police, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, marked lanes violation, speeding, and making an improper turn.

On Saturday, August 4 at 2:05 a.m., police issued a summons to a 28 year old Stoneham man for operating with a revoked/suspended license and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.
At 2:05 a.m., Wakefield was informed by Methuen police of an unlicensed operating driving their father’s vehicle. Soon after, police located the vehicle at McDonald’s and issued a summons to a 22 year old Methuen woman for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
At 3:20 a.m., police responded to Highland Street for a reported argument. Some individuals were sent home.
At 8:09 a.m., a caller reported that some people appeared to be camping on Crystal Lake. One individual was sent on their way.
At 8:30 a.m., a woman reported a case of identity fraud.
At 11:44 a.m., a caller reported that a man on Main Street was leaning against a building and looked sick. He was gone on arrival.
At 5:57 p.m., a caller reported that a woman was possibly just assaulted by a man while both were in a white Mercedes. Stoneham Police later located the car and the individuals said they had only been in a verbal argument.

At 6:50 p.m., an Audubon Road resident reported that laundry had been stolen from the dryer on the 9th floor.
At  10:50 p.m., police arrested Keith Jaffe, 58, of 12 Riverbank Circle, Bradford, Mass., for failure to obey DPW traffic signs, OUI liquor, and a marked lanes violation.

On Sunday, August 5 at 12:15 a.m., an officer pulled over a motorcycle with no license plate. An 18 year old Lynn man received a summons for operating an unregistered vehicle, unlicensed operation of a vehicle and operating an uinsured motor vehicle.
At 2:14 a.m., police issued a summons to a 17 year old Wakefield resident for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
At 2:28 a.m., an individual was spotted possibly passed out in a vehicle in front of the Dolbeare School. From there, police arrested Robert John Duritza, 27, 219 Jackson Street, Apt 411, Lowell, for OUI Liquor and possessing an open container of alcohol in a vehicle.
At 3:29 a.m., police investigated an unoccupied vehicle on Main Street that appeared to have fresh damage on it.
At 1:24 p.m., a Bonair Ave. resident requested help getting a bat out of her home.
At 2:52 p.m., police issued a summons to a 21 year old Wakefield man for having no inspection sticker, operating with a suspended/revoked registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
At 3:28 p.m., a caller reported a fire on Bartley Street. Police and fire units, the fire department put out a small fire.
