Man Charged With Failure to Stop For Police

Wakefield Police responded to these and other calls for service between Friday, January 10 and Sunday, January 12, 2014. 

On Friday, January 10 at 7:45 a.m. a caller asked police to check on a young couple wearing blankets and carrying backpacks near Water Street and Montrose Street. They were gone on arrival.
At 1 p.m. a motor vehicle break-in was reported on Lowell Street.
At 2:45 p.m. police were called to a possible fight at the high school. The parties were gone on arrival.
At 8:01 p.m. police took a call about a couple arguing on Main Street.
At 10:05 p.m. a noise complaint came in from Hopkins Street.
At 11:14 p.m. police arrested Andrew R. Brancato, 45, 187 Lake Street, Peabody, and charged him with failure to stop for police, operating with a suspended license, having an uninsured motor vehicle, and operating with a revoked or suspended
At 11:34 p.m. a disturbance between a bar patron and hotel guest was reported on North Ave. 


On Saturday, January 11 at 1:51 a.m. Wakefield was informed by Melrose Police of a dispute between  a couple in a white sedan with New York plates. They were not located.
At 3:29 a.m. a knocked down sign was reported on Tarrant Lane.
At 5:26 a.m. police were informed that a vehicle slid on some ice on Cottage Street and struck a pole.
At 6:23 a.m. a woman fell on the ice on Main Street and suffered a possible broken leg. She was transported to a nearby hospital.
At 11:55 a.m. a woman reportedly fell on a sidewalk on Pine Street and was bleeding from the head. She was transported to a nearby hospital.
At 2:10 p.m. a woman reported unauthorized debit card transactions. After investigation, police issued a summons to a 35 year old Wakefield man charging him with larceny over $250 and credit card fraud over $250.
At 2:44 p.m. a license plate was reported found in a snowbank on Main Street.
At 3:04 p.m a past hit and run was reported.
At 3:51 p.m. a broken window was investigated on Mackenzie Lane.
At 6:56 p.m. a caller reported an erratic operator near the McDonalds on Main Street. Police soon arrested Donald C. Mahoney, 19, 133 Pleasant Street, Melrose and charged him on three warrants. Police also arrested Jason M. Lampedecchio, 22, 17 Kingston Street, North Reading, and charged him on a warrant.
At 11:57 p.m. police responded to Bartley Street for a reported of two unwanted male guests in an apartment.

On Sunday, January 12 at 12:55 a.m. police took a report of threats from an individual on Bartley Street.
At 1:36 a.m. police checked on a disturbance between two friends on Greenwood Ave.
At 10:11 a.m. a hypodermic needle was reported found near Paul Ave.
At 11:52 a.m. polic took an ID theft report.
At 12:38 p.m. an accident was reported on 128 South.
At 12:48 p.m. a vandalism report came in from Greenwood Street.
At 1:50 p.m. a hit and run accident was reported near North Ave and Avon Street.
At 2:10 p.m. a fight in the street was reported on Richardson Ave. The parties were gone on arrival.
At 5:21 p.m. a Morningside Road resident reported a fire in the basement and extinguished it on her own prior to arrival.
