Man Arrested After Car Winds Up In The Woods

Information provided by the Wakefield Police. Where arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Wakefield Police responded to these and other calls for service on Wednesday, January 15, 2014.
At 8:36 a.m. a caller reported spinning out on the Meriam Street bridge. DPW was notified of icy conditions.
At 8:39 a.m. police were informed that a car struck another car parked in front of Avon Beauty Supply.
At 9:07 a.m. public safety personnel were informed of an individual who was deceased.
At 10:32 a.m. a lost dog with an apparent leg injury was found on Harding Road.
At 1:13 p.m. police were informed of a shoplifter on Main Street. 

At 2:25 p.m. a disturbance was reported at the Galvin Middle School. As noted in this previous article, an individual allegedly tried to enter the school through an open door as students were leaving. Police reported that the individual was escorted out of the building by a school official without incident, and that the children were not in any danger at any time. Police arrested Jeffrey Brennan, 19, 12 Harrison Street, Stoneham, and charged him with: Disturbing a school, disorderly conduct, trespassing, and two counts of unlawfully removing a parking ticket.
In a follow up email, Wakefield Police indicated that the matter remains under investigation and that the department’s in-house mental health clinician will make an assessment on whether any additional services are needed. There was also no additional information at this point on the two charges involving parking ticket removal. 

At 4:44 p.m. an Audubon Road resident reported past vandalism and stolen items at his apartment.
At 5:21 p.m. an accident was reported at North Ave. and Richardson Ave. Two cars were towed and one was transported to a nearby hospital.
At 7:17 p.m. a small dog with a Danvers tag was reported found near Morrison West Road.
At 8:21 p.m. an individual brought in a wallet found at the post office that was returned to its owner.
At 10:32 p.m. a caller reported a suspicious middle aged man near Main Street and Albion Street stomping his feet and carrying a stick.
On Thursday, January 16 at 1:09 a.m. a vehicle drove into the woods off Linden Ave. The driver had reportedly struck his head on the windshield but declined medical treatment. Police arrested Matthew Dennis Crampton, 22,140 Village Street, Reading, and charged him with: a lights violation, failure to stop for police, operating with a suspended/revoked license, and two warrants on motor vehicle charges.
