Man Arrested After Caller Reports Suspicious Van

Wakefield Police responded to these and other calls for service on Tuesday, August 20, 2013.
At 11:01 a.m. a minor accident was reported on Traverse Street.
At 11:30 a.m. police and the light department were informed of some wires down on Salem Street.
At 1:18 p.m. police spoke with a bicyclist who apparently hit a woman’s vehicle with his hand after she was driving in the bike lane area.
At 1:59 p.m. the fire department responded to Everett Ave. for a report of sparks coming from an oven.
At 3:46 p.m. police were informed of a wallet stolen from a vehicle on Water Street.
At 6:20 p.m. police took a report of a stolen license plate on  North Ave.
At 6:28 p.m. a caller on Paon Boulevard reported that a white van had pulled up in front of a neighbor’s home and that the occupant had exited and gone behind the house. The caller also noted that the vehicle was unfamiliar and not owned by the neighbor. Soon after, police arrested Christopher Neal, 33, 33 Hutchison Street, Revere, and charged him with breaking and entering a building in the daytime for felony, receiving stolen property above $250, and possession of a class E drug.
At 7:43 p.m. a caller reported a vehicle had backed into her car near North Ave. and Church Street.
At 8 p.m. the light department and the fire department responded to Vernon Street for a report of wires on a house that were causing a fire.
At 8:34 p.m. some youths were sent on their way from a property on Bryant Street.
At 8:45 p.m. police responded to a disturbance between roommates on Richardson Ave.
At 9:40 p.m. police went to Charles Street to check on a suspicious individual with black clothing and gloves. He checked out OK.
At 10:09 p.m. a lost iPhone was reportedly found near the lake.
