Kid In Locked Car and Youths Throwing Snowballs Reported

Wakefield Police responded to these and other calls for service between Friday, Dec. 20 and Sunday, Dec. 23, 2013.
On Friday, Dec. 20 at 2:30 p.m. an individual on Chapman Road reported having a child stuck in a locked car. The matter was resolved.
At 3:12 p.m. an accident was reported near North Ave. and Armory Street.
At 6:17 p.m. police spoke to some youths who had been throwing snowballs at a house on North Ave.
At 7:27 p.m. police took a call about some solicitors on Eustis Ave. After the call, they planned to charge the supervisor with a town by-law violation regarding solicitors.

On Saturday, Dec. 21 at 8:54 a.m., police took a theft report.
At 11:24 a.m. a parked car on Avon Street was reported to have suffered past damage.
At 12:50 p.m. Wakefield assisted Melrose in locating the owner of a vehicle involved in a hit and run accident in that town.
At 2:11 p.m. police were informed of a red SUV involved in a hit and run accident on Water Street.
At 2:50 p.m. a caller reported some children throwing snowballs at cars from behind a house on Oak Street.
At 7:07 p.m. a car reportedly slid off the road and struck a rock on Audubon Road.
At 10:52 p.m. police were informed of an intoxicated juvenile who was placed into the custody of his mother.
At 10:54 p.m. a caller on Harrington Court reported stolen medication. Police issued a summons to a 20 year old Wakefield woman charging her with larceny under $250.

On Sunday, Dec. 22 at 12:40 a.m. a caller reported a possibly drunk male in the street near Prospect Street and Brook Street. He was picked up by a friend.
At 12:48 a.m. a woman reported her vehicle’s back window was smashed on Preston Street.
At 1:05 a.m. Wakefield assisted Stoneham with searching near Forest Street for the suspect in an attempted break-in in that town. Nobody was found.
At 3:03 a.m. Wakefield assisted Woburn with investigating a hit and run accident in that town.
At 7:54 a.m. a worker reportedly had his arm caught in machinery at a Main Street business. He was transported to a nearby hospital.
At 9:05 a.m. a caller reported a young child wandering down Main Street. The child was found in care of a grandparent.
At 7:17 p.m. a Thorndike Road resident reported a break-in.
At 9:34 p.m.  police were informed that a tree limb fell on Ames Street, damaging a couple of vehicles and possibly striking some wires.
