Jogger Shot by Pellet Gun, And a Raccoon on a Telephone Pole

Wakefield Police responded to these and other calls for service between Friday, September 6 and Sunday, September 8, 2013.
On Friday, September 6 at 9:44 a.m. a caller reported suspicious activity in a neighbor’s driveway. It turned out to be a house cleaner.
At 10:28 a.m. a caller reported parts were stolen off his bicycle while he was in the North Ave. Diner.
At 11:29 a.m. a boater was sent on his way from Crystal Lake.
At 12:35 p.m. the fire department responded to Chestnut Street for a report of a child locked in a car.
At 2:56 p.m. a motorcyclist reportedly had a minor accident on Old Nahant Road and declined medical treatment.
At 3:18 p.m. a caller reported some suspicious vehicles on Chestnut Street. They turned out to be painters.
At 3:52 p.m. police took a report from Chestnut Street about an individual opening somebody else’s bank statement, apparently by accident.
At 6:04 p.m. police responded to Main Street for a report of a disturbance following a dog being struck by a vehicle.
At 8:54 p.m. police searched the area around Montrose Ave. and Roosevelt Road for some youths who had reportedly been throwing stones at vehicles.
At 10 p.m. a jogger reported being shot by a pellet gun near North Ave. and Wolcott Street.
At 10:55 p.m. police issued a summons to a 25 year old Wakefield man for noncompliant aftermarket lighting, and operating with a revoked/suspended license.
On Saturday, Sept. 7 police sent a man apparently looking for scrap metal on his way from behind Greenwood Plaza.
At 7:46 p.m. police spoke with some parents near Harrington Court about some youths trespassing on town property.
At 10:56 p.m. an intoxicated man on Water Street was transported to a nearby hospital.
At 11:48 p.m. police took a report of an online scam.
On Sunday, September 8 at 10:13 a.m. police were called to a local home to speak with an underage individual who returned home intoxicated the night before.
At 10:17 a.m. a caller on Walnut Street reported a suspicious man had knocked at her door claiming to be a private detective.
12:06 p.m. animal control was called to Lowell Street for a raccoon that had been perched on a telephone pole for several hours. It ended up running into the woods.
At 12:47 p.m. police went to Murray Street for a reported verbal dispute between a husband and wife.
At 5:34 p.m. police responded to the Clarion Inn for a report of some hotel guests refusing to leave the parking lot area.
At 7:41 p.m. a case of child neglect was investigated on Main Street.
At 9:58 p.m. an Overlook Road resident reported some items missing from the front porch.
At 11:06 p.m. Wakefield assisted Reading Police in locating a motorist suspected of being involved in a hit and run and assault in that town.
