Homeowner Disrupts Burglary In Progress

Wakefield Police responded to these and other calls for service on Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012.
At 9:18 a.m., a caller reported a man with a long beard and long hair in a braid was walking around near the Canterbury School. Police did not spot him.
At 10:27 a.m., police took a report involving vandalism to a building on Albion Street.
At 12:48 p.m., a car’s side tail light was reported broken on Kendrick Road.
At 1:22 p.m., a Sheffield Road resident reported coming home to find a burglary in progress. The homeowner reported a Hispanic male with short brown hair and a cream colored zip up sweatshirt was accompanied by another Hispanic male with short brown hair and a blue jacket. A woman with pulled back hair apparently involved in the matter was spotted driving an older blue SUV. The Police K9 unit responded to the scene but the group was not found.
At 3:03 p.m., police spoke to a man sitting in the ATM building on Tuttle Street. He explained he was waiting for a train.
At 6:14 p.m., a Kendrick Road resident reported that two African American males had rung the doorbell and asked where the middle school was. The two left the area in a dark colored sedan, possibly a Taurus, and the caller believed they were acting suspiciously at the time.
At 6:46 p.m., a woman reported an intoxicated man on the ground on Water Street. He was gone on arrival.
At 7:32 p.m., a Newhall Court resident reported somebody had ripped up a small tree on his property.
At 7:55 p.m., a caller on North Ave. reported a group of youths appeared to be fighting. They turned out to be playing football in a nearby field.
At 9:43 p.m., a minor accident was reported near the McDonald’s on Main Street.
