Fund Established for Wakefield Family After Last Week's Fire

The Collins Family Fund aims to help Wakefield family with two small children following last week's devastating fire on Gould Street.

Update: A neighbor reports that due to a strong outpouring of community support, the Collins family no longer needs clothing and toy donations.

A fund has been set up for the Wakefield family who lost their home in a fire last week.

The fire on Gould Street rekindled in the overnight hours of Friday morning after a small fire was doused at the scene Thursday evening. The house was a total loss.

According to a post on the Massachusetts State Police Facebook page, the Collins Family Fund has been set up for Rick and Heather Collins and their two children. Rick Collins is reportedly a dispatcher for the State Police in Framingham.

Checks to the Collins Family Fund can be mailed to MutualOne Bank, 828 Concord Street, Framingham, MA 01701.

The State Police posting also noted that donations of clothing and children’s toys are being accepted at their headquarters in Framingham. Anyone interested in making a donation can contact Jennifer Holye at 508 246-9200 or by email at jennifer.hoyle@state.ma.us.
