Electrical Accident, Liquor Store Shoplifter Among Weekend Reports

Wakefield Police responded to these and other calls for service between Friday, October 25 and Sunday, October 27, 2013.
On Friday, October 25 at 7:48 a.m. police and fire personnel were informed that a man at Edgewater Place was injured in an electrical accident. He was treated on the scene.
At 1:30 p.m. police took a report of a possible scam.
At 3:34 p.m. the fire department responded to a reported brush fire near Hemlock Road.
At 5:44 p.m. police took a report involving a problem between neighbors.
At 8:20 p.m. a woman reported that an ex-boyfriend had just violated restraining order by throwing a golf ball at her front door. Police arrested Stephen Carroll, 31, 64 Penny Lane, Stoneham, and charged him with violating a 209a abuse prevention order. The suspect was reportedly located in Stoneham and transported to Wakefield by police from that town.
At 9:01 p.m. the fire department responded to a report of a gas odor coming from a furnace on Flint Street.
At 9:30 a.m. an accident was reported near North Ave. and Prospect Street.
At 9:52 a.m. fire and police responded to Bathol Street for a report of an odor of gas in a building.
At 4:43 p.m. a caller near Foundry Street and Broadway reported seeing three males wearing sweatshirts peering into vehicles. An area search came up negative.
At 5:02 p.m. police arrested Kelly R. Pfeifer, 23, 240 Lowell Street, Wakefield, on a warrant.
At 5:16 p.m. a caller on Vernon Street reported his parked car had been struck by another vehicle.
At 5:41 p.m. police sent a group of youths on their way from Tylers Lane after receiving a report that they may be drinking.
At 6:54 p.m. an accident was reported on Main Street.
At 10:06 p.m. police were informed that a white male, described as about 5’9 and 20 years old, had just shoplifted at S&M Liquors on Water Street and fled across the street to a white Ford Crown Victoria.
At 11:19 p.m. police responded to a family disturbance on Greenwood Street.
On Sunday, October 27 at 2:07 a.m., police took a report during a traffic stop involving a past domestic dispute.
At 3:13 a.m. a stolen iPod was reported on Preston Street.
At 4:01 a.m. a caller on Charles Street reported that the exterior light of a home nearby appeared to be flashing out the “SOS” morse code signal. It turned out to be a malfunctioning light.
At 9:15 a.m. police were informed some cinder blocks were removed from a property on Dillaway Street and placed in the road.
At 9:31 a.m. police took a report of a past vehicle break-in.
At 10:01 a.m. a missing dog was returned to its owner.
At 12:27 p.m. an argument between two males was reported on Salem Street. They were gone on arrival.
At 12:29 p.m. a woman reported some youths had toilet papered the trees and front yard at her elderly father’s house and had also possibly tied a cord onto his steps that could have tripped him.
At 12:50 p.m. a caller reported a man on Richardson Ave. was causing a disturbance with a remote controlled car.
At 2:17 p.m. a homemade “go slow” sign near Birch Hill Ave. was reportedly moved over to the side of the road.
At 12:05 a.m. on Monday, October 28, police arrested Kenneth C. Freitag, 32, 20 Richardson Ave., Wakefield, and charged him with assault and battery – domestic.
