Cab Driver Takes Guitar After Partial Payment

Wakefield Police responded to these and other calls for service between Monday, December 23 and Wednesday, December 25, 2013.

On Monday, December 23 at 10:31 a.m., police took a report of a past theft.
At 10:42 a.m. a car on Richardson Street reportedly struck a wall and left the area. The individual was later located and transported to a nearby hospital. Police issued a summons to a 57 year old Wakefield man charging him with OUI Liquor, operating with a revoked/suspended license, leaving the scene of property damage, and failure to drive in the right lane.
At 11:15 a.m. a FedEx truck’s mirror was reportedly struck by a passing car on Byron Street.
At 2:19 p.m. an accident was reported near North Ave. and W. Water Street.
At 2:59 p.m. a wandering dog with tags was reported near Pleasant Street and Eaton Street. It was gone on arrival.
At 4:26 p.m. police and emergency personnel responded to the 7-11 on Albion Street for a report of a man possibly unconscious on the ground. He was transported to a nearby hospital.
At 5:20 p.m. police were informed that a vehicle known to be involved in metal scrapping was parked suspiciously near a Water Street business that morning.
At 5:35 p.m. an accident was reported involving a cement truck at the rotary.
At 6:32 p.m. police responded to a family dispute on Norway Street and placed one individual into protective custody.
At 7:36 p.m. police were informed of a man on the ground at Greenwood Plaza. He was transported to a nearby hospital.
At 8:40 p.m. a caller reported that a taxi driver had held his guitar after he did not pay in full. The man was advised that this was a civil matter with the cab company.
At 8:53 p.m. police took a report of an erratic operator near Farm Street and Nahant Street. Police arrested Jeffrey R. Noble, 25, 56 Chestnut Street, Wakefield, and charged him with OUI Drugs and Possession of an ounce or less of marijuana.
At 10:20 p.m. police were informed of a BOLO alert for a suspect and vehicle from a reported domestic incident. Police later arrested Carmen Botta, 36, 11 Middlesex St., Wakefield, and charged him with assault and battery – domestic and witness intimidation.

On Tuesday, December 24 at 12:51 a.m. police and fire personnel responded to a transformer fire on Main Street.
At 7:55 a.m. police responded to a family issue on Lowell Street.
At 9:46 a.m. a sign was removed from the road on Charles Street.
At 2:58 p.m. an intoxicated man was reported in a restaurant on North Ave. He got on a train to Boston.
At 5:53 p.m. state police and Wakefield Police responded to a two-car accident on 128 North.
At 8:44 p.m. police took a report of a computer stolen from a building on Albion Street.
At 9:49 p.m. an accident was reported on Water Street.
At 11:13 p.m. a group of youths were sent on their way from Preston Street after a complaint was received.

On Wednesday, December 25 at 3:01 p.m. some construction lights were reported vandalized on Main Street.
At 8:57 p.m. police arrested Stephen J. Quigley, 27, 8 Evergreen Street, Wakefield, and charged him with OUI Liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, a marked lanes violation, and speeding.
At 11:39 p.m. police responded to a report of males yelling on Main Street but nothing out of order was found.
