A Shaking House, A Boat in the Road, and a Baby in a Car

Wakefield Police responded to these and other calls for service between Friday, July 19 and Sunday, July 21, 2013.

On Friday, July 19 at 7:48 a.m. police took a call about a suspicious car parking on Dillaway Street in recent days. It turned out to be a babysitter waiting to start work.
At 8:28 a.m. a truck was reportedly driving erratically near Albion Street and Byron Street.
At 9:12 a.m. animal control and an officer assisted a Hopkins Street resident in removing a bat from her apartment.
At 10:31 a.m. police observed a parked motorcycle that had stolen license plates and issued a summons to a 47 year old Wakefield man charging him with operating a motor vehicle with license revoked as a habitual traffic offender, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, attaching a number plate not assigned, and receiving stolen property -$250.
At 12:01 p.m. a suspicious car was reported on Summit Ave.
At 12:24 p.m. police took a walk in report of a $10 bill being passed on Main Street.
At 1:38 p.m. a caller on Kearley Lane reported that activity at nearby Camp Curtis Guild in Reading was causing his house to shake. An officer checked the area and spoke with some soldiers and no such activity could be found.
At 1:42 p.m. a Main Street resident reported a man had come to his room demanding money.
At 2 p.m. police and rescue personnel responded to an accident involving a car and a motorcycle on Main Street.
At 2:51 p.m. police took a walk-in fraud report.
At 5:53 p.m. the fire department responded to Willard Road for a mulch fire that was extinguished prior to arrival.
At 5:59 p.m. a caller reported a suspicious bag left near a tree on the Quannapowitt Parkway. The bag checked out OK.
At 7:01 p.m. State Police responded to an accident on 128 North near Exit 39.
At 11:55 p.m. a caller on Lowell Street reported hearing glass break and then seeing four young males running away. They were gone on arrival.

On Saturday, July 20 at 2:27 a.m., the fire department assisted a Pleasant Street resident who was locked out of her home.
At 4:16 a.m. the DPW removed a tree across the road near Forest Street and Meriam Street.
At 12:26 p.m. a caller reported his wife had been followed to work.
At 12:57 p.m. the fire department responded to Outlook Road for a report of a smell of something burning in a house.
At 6:33 p.m. a Main Street business reported a problem with a customer who was initially thought to be using a fake ID to buy alcohol but then apparently was not.
At 7:27 p.m. a motorist reportedly struck a mailbox on Partridge Lane. Police issued a summons to a 24 year old Saugus man charging him with operating with a revoked/suspended license.
At 10:10 p.m. a caller reported some youths drinking in a parking lot on Bartley Street. They were gone on arrival.
At 10:26 p.m. a caller reported her car was struck by an egg while driving near West Park Drive. An officer located the youths and sent them on their way.

On Sunday, July 21 at 12:40 a.m. police took a complaint about some men playing basketball on Main Street. They were gone on arrival.
At 10:20 a.m. police took a report involving a neighbor dispute.
At 11:14 a.m.  a Madison Ave. resident reported a possible past break-in.
At 12:41 p.m. a Vernon Street resident reported a stolen front license plate.
At 1:47 p.m. a Main Street business reported a possible past attempted break-in.
At 3:08 p.m. an officer instructed some youths to stop operating a mini bike on Winship Drive.
At 5:41 p.m. a caller on Broadway reported that a mother had left her sleeping infant in a locked vehicle with the air conditioner running for a short period of time. The caller and the mother than apparently exchanged words and the caller reportedly said she felt verbally assaulted.
At 6:19 p.m. a minor accident involving a bicyclist on Main Street was reported.
At 6:50 p.m. a neighbor dispute was reported on Pearl Street.
At 7:11 p.m. a caller reported a boat fell off his trailer near North Ave. and Beacon Street and was now in the roadway. Police issued a citation and the boat was removed.
At 8:41 p.m. a man reported that somebody called him impersonating a police officer.
At 10:16 p.m. a caller reported fireworks being thrown from a vehicle on Penfield Circle. The car was gone on arrival.
At 11:11 p.m. police issued a summons to a 19 year old Wakefield man charging him with operating with a suspended/revoked license and a number plate violation.
