12-Year-Old Gets Home Safe After Getting Lost In Breakheart

Wakefield Police responded to these and other calls for service between Friday, August 16 and Sunday, August 18.
On Friday, August 16 at 8:06 a.m. police took a report of a past break-in on Main Street.
At 8:42 a.m. police and rescue personnel assisted a man who had been reportedly on the ground at the North Ave./128 North ramp.
At 8:47 a.m. police issued a summons to a 24 year old Lynn resident operating with a suspended/revoked license.
At 9:10 a.m. a break-in from the previous night was reported on Foundry Street.
At 4:17 p.m. two suspicious males were reported in the woods near Gail Circle. They were located and sent on their way.
At 4:59 p.m. a past motor vehicle break-in was reported on Tuttle Street. Two iPods were reported stolen.
At 7:19 p.m. police arrested Kevin James McKenna, 34, 8 Wakefield Ave. Wakefield and charged him on a warrant, operating with a suspended license, operating with a suspended registration, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
At 7:47 p.m. Wakefield assisted Saugus police in searching for a 12 year old male reported missing in Breakheart Reservation. A Farm Street resident called police after the boy reportedly approached to ask for help, and he was soon reunited with his family.
At 9:27 p.m. the fire department responded to multiple calls for a fire in the woods near Sylvan Ave. and Gail Circle.
At 10:53 p.m. a caller reported three males on Main Street, one possibly carrying a large knife. They were sent on their way.
On Saturday, August 17 at 10:17 a.m. police issued a summons to a 47 year old Wakefield man charging him with assault and battery – domestic.
At 11:20 a.m. a Putnam Ave. resident reported finding a lost older chocolate lab dog.
At 12:40 p.m. police took a report involving possible theft at a yard sale on Main Street.
At 4:40 p.m. a caller reported finding a bag containing pills and credit cards in the trash behind a business on Audubon Road. Police took custody to determine if it was intended to be trash.
At 8:02 p.m. the fire department responded to a report of flames visible near Cedar Street and Albion Street.
On Sunday, August 18 at 3:11 a.m. police spoke with two suspicious males on Lowell Street.
At 6:40 a.m. police placed a 23 year old female into protective custody on Thistledale Road.
At 10:18 a.m. a minor accident was reported near Farm Street and Water Street.
At 12:47 p.m. the fire department responded to Meriam Street for a report of a malfunctioning clothes dryer.
At 1:41 p.m. police were informed of a hit and run accident on the 129 Rotary.
At 5:42 p.m. the fire department responded to sparks from an electrical outlet on Avon Street.
At 10:42 p.m. police took a report involving harassing text messages.
