Bieber, the Feline Teen Idol

Hi, my name is Bieber, as in Justin, the teen idol.  I am a teen for sure and my black and white tuxedo fur is every bit as shiny and beautiful as my namesake’s.  But let’s be clear.  If I am a pop star, it is not because of my voice.  I have no interest in the paparazzi or the life of celebrity.  Of course, like every teen idol, I am fabulous to the core and very appealing.

Not just people adore me, but also other cats.  When I lived outside, I had some female admirers.  There were two girl cats who always wanted to snuggle with me.  Was it my sex appeal?  Or was it because I am such a gentleman?  They would rub their heads under my neck and I would let them run around me and snuggle close to me.  Afterwards, we would all lie down together and sunbathe. The girls were taken in by a PAWS volunteer and have already found forever homes.

I also have two brothers who were recently rescued by PAWS: Moonpie (already adopted) and Beardsley (still waiting for his perfect person, so check him out at www.pawswakefield.org).  One by one, my friends and siblings disappeared into this nearby house where we went to partake of the food and water left on the deck.  So, I decided, why not me, too?  First, I worked hard to dazzle the lady of the house, circling her legs when she walked by and plopping down to show her my tummy (ok, I also wanted a rub or two).  When that did not work, I climbed her screen door in the hopes it would open.  All the cats on the other side of the door seemed so nice.  I just could not wait for my turn to get inside and be a happy housecat like my friends.

Well, it finally happened and, thanks to PAWS, I am no longer out in the rain and bad weather.  I was so thankful for the safe haven and great food and company and I really hoped my PAWS family would keep me forever.  But, they had reached their limit of pets and knew that it would be better for me to find a home of my own.  So now, after getting all my vet checks and shots and being neutered (not a big deal at all), I am staying at the PAWS adoption center at PetSmart.  You can see me there every day if you want, so please come by to visit.  It’s ok here, and I have lots of people who take care of me and cats to play with.  But life in a cage is a bit restrictive, especially for a young, active guy like me.  I want to get out as quickly as possible and go to my forever home.

What do I want in a home?  I am pretty easy to please.  I don’t need huge amounts of space, I like people, including kids, and I enjoy the company of other cats, too.  Since I am active and like to play, I would like a family that has time to play with me.   When I lived outside, I chased acorns and squirrels.  Now, I like catnip mice and balls with bells.  Of course, when you are busy, I can play by myself.  Or, if you have another cat, we could play together and then snuggle up when we are tired.  Or, I could snuggle with you.  Or whoever is available.  Like I said, I am not picky.

So do you want a sweet, loving tuxedo cat with pop star glamor and good looks, but no desire for the glitter and glam of Hollywood life?  Do you want an easy going guy who will glide into your household and your heart?  Do you have wet food?  (I love wet food.)  If you say yes to these questions, I think we are a match.  Just beware.  Because, once I meet you, I plan to hang on tight.  This teen idol knows a good thing when he sees it!
