Rep. Brodeur Announces Changes to Tobin Bridge Tolling

State Representative Paul Brodeur (D-Melrose) announced changes to tolling procedures on the Tobin Bridge.

MassDOT is encouraging motorists to join E-ZPass as All-Electronic Tolling is being implemented this summer on the Tobin Bridge. The E-ZPass Street team will be enrolling new customers in the E-ZPass program throughout the region in the coming weeks. E-ZPass is free to join and customers receive a transponder onsite.

The Street Team’s upcoming schedule is part of MassDOT’s continued efforts to enroll new customers in the E-ZPass program as the Tobin Bridge makes the conversion to all-electronic tolling. Tolls will be collected through the E-ZPass transponder or via a “pay-by-plate” system, where an image of a license plate is taken and an invoice will be sent to the address listed on the vehicle registration. This means that vehicles will no longer stop at a toll plaza to pay cash.
