A woman on our facebook page says around 8:20 a.m. her husband saw a lab with a green collar by himself in front of the Dockside. Hope that helps.

Try contacting Granite State Dog Recovery. They're amazing and have a great recovery record.

Hi Charlene, I am pretty sure I saw pepper on Herbert street (off of Bennett street) running down the street toward nahant street at about 11:00am this morning. Hope this helps sorry I didn't see this sooner!
Charlene Coneys January 03, 2014 at 05:41 PM
Thank you all so much for getting the word out. We followed-up on Caity's tip and several people think they saw Pepper today in the Herbert St area. I've walked the area several times today. PLEASE keep looking. It is very encouraging that she survived last night's weather, but it will be so cold again tonight. Again, thank you all and please keep looking. Charlene

Charlene...saw this post this morning and have been sick about it all day! My husband and I are tired of being house bound and are going to take a drive down to the nahant street area right now to see if we spot her.
Charlene Coneys January 04, 2014 at 12:32 AM
Last potential sighting was crossing Nahant St heading north (?toward home). She seems to be staying between Bennett St and Nahant St around Herbert St and Traverse. Going to concentrate in that area in the morning. Hopefully she's found a sheltered area for the night. She is so close to home. Thank you all for your efforts. I really appreciate. Charlene

I have friends who work in animal rescue. They had some suggestions: Findtoto.com sends a voicemail message that you personally record to every public phone number in your neighborhood. It's like an amber alert system for pets. There is a fee for the service based on the size of the area you wish to canvass. If your pet is microchipped, Home Again may be able to help you locate her. Call shelters. Some destroy animals after as little as four days if they do not adopt them out quickly Contact Animal Control and see if they will set up a trap to catch her. If they won't, ask a shelter if you can borrow one. Dogs will burrow under things in winter. When you search, look under cars or other outdoor equipment. One friend actually found a dog living under a friend's trampoline. Keep an ear to the ground in your neighborhood for new pet owners. Often a family will take in a stray, not knowing it's your pet. They may not know to ask around, or who to ask. Post notices at the schools, or call Greenwwod/Woodville/Galvin to see if they can help Call vets to give them a heads up Glad to follow up with details on any of the above, let me know, happy to email you

Charlene someone just saw her by shaws
Charlene Coneys January 04, 2014 at 10:17 PM
Just walked down to Shaws with a friend and spoke with a gentleman who thought he had seen her on Richardson at Wakefield Ave. She is so very, very close. I will keep tabs calling her name tonight. Thank you so much and I will keep you posted. Charlene

I was just out looking for pepper. I saw several people on Richardson with what looked like a black lab on a leash though. Right at the bottom of the hill.
Charlene Coneys January 04, 2014 at 10:31 PM
Probably the people I spoke with as well. The gentleman said he had seen a black lab mix (small) bit that it wouldn't come to him - it ran away. Hoping....

Ugh I can't rest. I don't know how you're holding up
Erika D'Onofrio January 04, 2014 at 10:42 PM
You've got a lot of people praying for you and pepper
Charlene Coneys January 04, 2014 at 11:58 PM
Several sightings between 11pm and midnight around Shaws and the bowling alley on Water St. She is so close. Thank you Pam and Kayla for calling with sightings. Went looking with no luck. Going to call her from home throughout the night. Hopefully she will be home soon

I wonder if you could lure her back home using scent. Tie cloths that have her or your scent to signposts along the pathways she uses and make a trail for her to follow back home. You can throw rags in your bed, she can pick up scent from them.

GOOD NEWS!!!! Pepper is home!! I walked the area she was last seen very early this morning. Came home and went to get a cup of coffee to start a car search. Decided to drive past my house and she was in the driveway. She is tired and hungry and will go to the vet today. I do not know how to thank everyone for their keeping an eye out, calling and caring enough to get involved. What a remarkable sense of community. Thank you from the bottom of my heart doesn't even begin to say how much I appreciate it. God bless you all!
