Wakefield Obituaries: Elaine T. Burditt, Dorothy Constance Medley

Elaine T. Burditt, 67, a long time Wakefield resident died on Thursday, November 21 at her residence.

Born in Arlington on October 14, 1946, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Alice M. (Dillon) Sullivan.

Mrs. Burditt was raised in Medford and was a graduate of Medford High School. She had been employed for many years at the New England Memorial Hospital where she worked as an EKG Technician.

Mrs. Burditt was the beloved wife of Richard H. Burditt. She was the loving mother of Richard H. Burditt, Jr., and wife Kim of Wakefield, and Kerry A. Burditt of Melrose. She was the grandmother of Timothy Burditt, Julia and Grace Wade, and Kirbie and Reegan O'Brien. She was the sister of Ruth Hall and the late Karen Sullivan. She is also survived by Heather and Scott Wade of Wakefield, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and In-laws.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Monday at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in Saint Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 11 o'clock. Dorothy Constance Medley, 93, a lifelong Wakefield resident, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 19, at her home surrounded by her loving family and faithful family dog, Ziggy and Max the cat. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, godmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and devoted friend to many people. If you ever needed help there was nothing she would not do for you.

Born in Melrose on September 20, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Susan (DeCecca) Perrone of Wakefield.

Dorothy was a graduate of St. Joseph School and Wakefield High School. She also attended school to become a secretary and worked at the State Welfare Office in Wakefield for over twenty-five years.

Dorothy was the beloved wife of Herman Medley for over fifty years. They first met in Boston, at Jacob Worth restaurant, while he was on leave from the Navy during WWII. They married in 1947 and together they had a son.

The beloved matriarch and light of her family departed this world to be with God, her husband, Herman, her mom and dad, her brothers Ernest and Edmund, her sister Frances and the rest of her family, including many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and close devoted friends. She moves on where she will have perpetual happiness, love and peace in eternity.

Dorothy leaves behind her loving son, Michael Medley, of Wakefield and her cherished granddaughter Melissa Medley of Wakefield. She is also survived by her close and loving sister, Florence (Martino) Fuccillo of Wakefield, her brother Phillip Perrone and his wife Helen of Crystal River FL., and her brother Augustus Perrone of Wakefield. She is also survived by many wonderful nieces, nephews, and cousins.

There will be no visitation and no grave-site services, Dorothy's wishes were that she be cremated. There will be a funeral Mass at Saint Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield on Monday, December 2nd at 10:00am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
