Obituary: Sophie T. Crocker

Lifelong Wakefield resident died Saturday at age 93.

Sophie T. Crocker, 93, a life long Wakefield resident died on Saturday, August 18 at her residence.

Born in Wakefield on January 17, 1919 she was the daughter of the late Frank and Philomenia (Krezwicka) Yazinka.

Mrs. Crocker was a graduate of Wakefield high School, Class of 1938. She had worked as a clerk for the I.R.S. in Andover. Mrs. Crocker was a member of St. Joseph Parish in Wakefield. She enjoyed camping in Brighton, Maine and traveling to Foxwoods.

Mrs. Crocker was the wife of the late Herbert R. Crocker. She is survived by her two daughters; Shirley Crocker-Herrick and her husband Dan of Wakefield and Rockport and Mary "Betsy" Crocker of Wakefield, her son John D. Crocker and his wife Karen of Wakefield, her daughter-in-law Dorothy R. Crocker of Danvers, her four grandchildren; Katelin, Tyler, Derek and Andrew Crocker and her two sisters; Henrietta Geoghegan and Jean Funk both of Wakefield. Mrs. Crocker was predeceased by her son Ronald H. Crocker, her two brothers; Frank and Henry Yazinka and her two sisters; Helen Delano and Fanny Perry.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Wednesday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church 173 Albion St, Wakefield at 10am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4-8pm. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
