The following obituary appears on the website of the Paul C. Rogers and Sons Funeral Homes

Carl Roger Anderson, age 88, longtime resident of Wakefield, died peacefully at his home Tuesday morning, December 3, 2013, eternally reunited with his loving wife, Angela Marie (Russo) Anderson, who passed on February 10, 2010.

Born in Saugus, July 30, 1925, one of four children of the late Gustav and Hildegarde (Hedberg) Anderson, he attended Malden High School and Wentworth Institute Evening School in Boston. One day shy of his 18th birthday, Carl joined the United States Navy, proudly serving his Country during World War II from July 29, 1943 until his honorable discharge on April 5, 1946 with the rank of Motor Machinist Mate 3rd Class. During his years of service he received the
World War II Victory Medal, the American Theatre Medal and the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Medal.

A meticulous machinist/draftsman, he had worked for BASF Corporation until his retirement in 1990.

Carl loved woodworking, golf, and fishing, and was an avid fan of the Boston Bruins and the New England Patriots. Never having had children of his own, he treated his step-children and their families like his own. A very kind, caring man, he was extremely generous, always ready to help, share or care for whenever needed. His most treasured times were those spent with his family and friends.

He is survived by his sister, Beatrice M. Munroe and husband Frederick of Wakefield; his three nephews and his niece, whom he also treated like his own children, Alan Bleyle of Waltham, Paul A. Munroe and wife Jackie of Rowley, Edward F. Munroe and wife Marybeth of Kennebunk, ME and Joanne M. Green and husband Larry of Windham, NH; his step-children,
Susan L. McClellan of Newburyport; Glenn F. McClellan and companion Clyde Marie Cronin of DeFuniak Springs, FL; and William C. McClellan of Newburyport; grandchildren, Zachary Saba of Somerville, MA; Justine Clifford and husband Jason of Newburyport, Joshua Piecuch of Somerville and Jason Scione and companion Tara Luce of Exeter, NH; three great-grandchildren and several dear friends, all of whom will truly miss him. He was predeceased by two sisters, Helen V. Anderson and Doris E. Bleyle and step-son, Donald A. McClellan.
