Carousel Variety is now a Mass in Motion Healthy Market

(Wakefield, MA) FEBRUARY 20, 2014....Mass in Motion-Melrose/Wakefield is proud to announce that Carousel Variety is now a Mass in Motion Healthy Market.

 

An initiative of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and the City of Melrose and Town of Wakefield Health Departments, the Mass in Motion Healthy Market Program works with local convenience store owners to make healthy food and drink options more readily available. By promoting healthy options, the local markets are helping to make healthy choices easier for families.

Store owner Bobby Patel has been working with Kara Showers, Mass in Motion-Melrose/Wakefield program coordinator, and Mass in Motion-Melrose/Wakefield intern Cristina Los, to stock fresh fruits and vegetables, healthy cereals and grains, healthy beverages and healthy snacks.

“I’ve been here at Carousel Variety since 2001.  I am excited to bring more healthy products to my customers,” said owner Patel.

 

Please patronize Carousel Variety located at 436A Water Street in Wakefield.  One can find grab-and-go snack items such as bananas and nonfat yogurts, in addition to items one may need for dinner like whole wheat pasta and brown rice.  Stop by to browse these selections and much more.

 

Carousel Variety joins Fast Freddie’s, 7-Eleven and Wakefield Sunoco as the fourth Healthy Corner Store in Wakefield.
