Town Clerk Thanks Those Who Helped With Election

As noted in this article on Wakefield Patch last week, Gabriel Gomez carried Wakefield by about a four-point margin in Tuesday's special Senate election. However, the town also saw a voter turnout rate that was fairly high by special election standards - 32.54%.

With that in mind, Wakefield Town Clerk Mary Galvin recently emailed local media outlets to express thanks to others in town who helped make the day a success. Below is the text of her note:

"I would like to express my appreciation to all of the hard working people who made the Special State Election of June 25, 2013 a success in Wakefield.

The Town Clerk office staff of Rosemary Morgan, Mary V. Dechant, Marilyn Bowen, Mary Dumont and Ann Puleo persevered through all of the work involved, and Joe Puleo, Computer Consultant did an outstanding job preparing the voting equipment, and worked tirelessly at all the precincts to handle voting issues. My gratitude particularly extends to Marilyn Bowen, Head Warden, and Wardens Linda Byam, Thomas R. Campbell, Bob Foley, Charlotte Heger, Kristen Henshaw, Ginny Hopkins, Patricia Schneider and Jerry Sweeney, Deputy Warden of the Tabulation Center, along with all of their wonderful election workers.

Clayton Frautten, Foreman, DPW performed his usual yeoman’s job of directing the setup of all the voting equipment, and was assisted by Dana Brickett, Foreman, Marty Bridle, Al deFronzo, Mark Forward, Foreman, Joe Gaudreau, Foreman, and Bob LeBlanc."
