Five Things to Know Today, Oct. 20

Where and when to meet the Principal of the Dolbeare or the Town Administrator, where to audition for a play, and more things to know today.

1. It's not over yet - Today there's a chance of showers in the morning, and temperatures could gradually climb as high as 69 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. However, it will still be pretty windy out there, with gusts up to 31 mph.

2. Today in Wakefield sports - Girls varsity field hockey plays Burlington at 3:30 p.m. @ Burlington, boys varsity soccer plays Burlington at 3:45 p.m. at home, and girls varsity soccer plays Burlington at 6 p.m. @ Burlington.

3. Meet the Principal - If you're a parent at the Dolbeare School, Principal Beth Yando is hosting a " in the school's cafeteria. James Moriarty, the new instructional technology teacher at the Dolbeare, will be the special guest. Mr. Moriarty will share information about educational websites that will enhance the curriculum.

4. Watch out, Broadway - Tonight at 7 p.m., Wakefield Repertory Theatre will hold auditions for its cabaret fundraising production of "Winter On Broadway." Auditions will be held at will be held at Wakefield-Lynnfield United Church, 273 Vernon Street, Wakefield. There are parts for adults and children age 7 and older who enjoy singing on stage. Adults should prepare 16 - 32 bars of an uptempo and ballad that shows vocal range, head voice & belt. Children under 16 will sing a group number.

5. Meet with Town Administrator - If you've got an issue you'd like to bring to well - bring it! Town Administrator Stephen Maio is holding open office hours today from 3 to 4 p.m. at Town Hall. If this time isn't convenient, you can  schedule an appointment by calling 781-246-6390 or by sending an email to smaio@wakefield.ma.us.
