Wakefield Artist, Constance Festo Lafond

This is the third in a series of profiles of Wakefield Artists

Constance Festo Lafond, a member of The Arts Collaborative of Wakefield, has been painting in watercolor for twenty years. She studied painting under artists Gladys Maynard and Ester Garcia Eder and, since moving to Wakefield ten years ago, her work has been shown in many venues on the North Shore. I find that her paintings have a quality of freedom and lightness, and convey a sense of tranquility and joy.

For the rest of June, Connie is exhibiting her work at Silver Clay Gifts at 39 Albion Street in Wakefield. The show is called "Dunes and Marshes", and is collection of plein air (painted outdoors) paintings and colorful photographs. Also included are two oil paintings - a medium Connie would like to devote more time to in the future. Tonight, a reception for the opening of the exhibit will be held from 5 to 8 at Silver Clay, and I would encourage you to stop by and view Connie's beautiful work!
