Melrose & Wakefield: Communities Committed to Healthy Living

Get moving with free events in October.

The Lose it Challenge was a great start. Now Melrose and Wakefield are off and running as they each celebrate National Child Health Month this October.

City of Melrose Mayor Robert Dolan, Town of Wakefield Administrator Steve Maio and Mass in Motion Grant Coordinator Kara Showers along with local fitness businesses, organizations and health professionals are working together to promote healthy living this October and beyond in our two communities.

Mass in Motion is an initiative of the Mass Department of Public Health promoting healthy eating and active living by changing the environment in which we live, work and play.

There are more than 50 "Eat Better, Move More" events, which are free and open to the public, listed on the new Mass in Motion-Melrose/Wakefield website.

Please join us for these free events and spread the word. Let's get moving this October!
