Wakefield Home Sales Set To See Gain For 2012

At the end of November, Wakefield had 179 single family home sales recorded for 2012.

Single family home sales in Wakefield are set to see a gain for 2012, with help from a strong month of November.

According to new data from the Warren Group, there were 179 single family homes sold in Wakefield as of the end of November. At that point in 2011, there were 158 home sales recorded, which makes a difference of just over 13%.

For November 2012, 23 home sales were recorded in Wakefield, compared to 13 last year – a gain of 76.9%.

As far as the town’s median sales price goes, things haven’t changed very much in the past year. The year to date median sales price reported by the Warren Group as of the end of November was $375,000. At that same point in 2011, it stood at $376, 825.

Statewide, the Warren Group reported a 22% jump in single family home sales.

We're winding down a pretty strong year of real estate in Massachusetts. It looks like sales will be the highest since 2006," said The Warren Group CEO Timothy M. Warren Jr. "We're also seeing median prices start to creep up, another positive sign of a healthy market recovery."
