Here are a few things worth knowing today, Friday, June 1, 2012:
Weather: Today will be mostly sunny with a high near 70 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
Community: The Friends of the will be holding its tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church (8 Lafayette St.) in Wakefield. Donations of books, CDs, DVDs, and audio books are wanted. There's also a special preview night for members of the Friends organization, from 6-9 p.m.

Arts: Join the Wakefield Rotary Club for a fundraiser to benefit local projects, featuring the music of Jim Plunkett and Left Hand Blue Thursday, June 14th at 7 p.m. at the Wakefield Center for Performing Arts. Join the Wakefield Rotary Club for a fundraiser to benefit local projects. All proceeds benefit charitable causes. Tickets are $20 in advance at: , , , or $25 at the door.

Business: There's a Cash Mob brewing in Wakefield for Thursday, June 7th. A takeoff of a Flash Mob, Cash Mobbers join together on a chosen day and each spend $10-$20 to provide a quick financial and morale boost to one locally-owned business.
