Sen. Tisei announces his candidacy, a seminar for seniors, the Walton goes green, and more things to know today.

1. Cloudy but warm, again - There's a slight chance of showers today, but otherwise, it will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 65, according to the National Weather Service.

2. A good day to go green - Today at the , (40 Western Ave) the school will be transformed into a recycling center for the Wakefield community. Bring in any soft goods from 9-2 p.m., and electronics from 2 to 4 p.m. Soft goods include clothing, stuff animals, toys, shoes, bedding, etc. Large appliances will be collected for a $5 fee, and TVs will be collected for .45 cents per pound. 3. Help for seniors - Today at the , two attorneys from Curley Law Firm in Wakefield will be presenting a seminar designed to help seniors protect their finances through nursing home care and estate taxes. The presentation,  “Protect your Home and Savings against Nursing Home Costs, Medicaid, and Estate Taxes," will take place at 10 a.m. at the senior center. 4. Richard Tisei to announce candidacy - If you want to be there to hear Richard Tisei's announcement of his candidacy for the 2012 U.S. Congress elections, he'll be making the announcement today at 11 a.m. at the .Tisei, of Wakefield, represented portions of the 6th Congressional District as a state representative and state senator for 26 years. Tisei will be introduced by Selectman Al Turco.

5. Town meeting outcome - We'll have the full run-down on the site later today, but the article requiring the snow and ice to be removed from specific downtown sidewalks was approved, along with $200,000 for roadway improvements.
