Exhibit Highlights History of Wakefield's First Responders

Wakefield History Museum at 39 Prospect Street will open at various times during the winter. Exhibit will remain in place until June.

A new exhibit has opened highlighting the history of Wakefield’s first responders.

The exhibit opened Sunday at the Wakefield History Museum, located at 39 Prospect Street. Items on display include press accounts of some of the town’s most infamous fires, plus vintage uniforms and gear, photos, and more.

The history museum, which depends on volunteers to be open, will show the exhibit again from time to time through the winter, Wakefield Historical Society President Nancy Bertrand told Wakefield Patch on Sunday. The first responders exhibit will be there until June, she added.
