After Six Months, Dog Recovered In Wakefield

Dog first reported lost in June in Stoneham was recovered Nov. 29 on Stone Circle in Wakefield.

A local dog has a new foster home after surviving a six-month adventure through various towns.

A couple of weeks ago, a report on the Animal Rescue League of Boston website told the story of Isa, a rescue dog brought from Puerto Rico who got loose in June in Stoneham and then proceeded to show up in Saugus, Stoneham and Wakefield – always one step ahead of her would-be rescuers.

The ARL report noted that at one point, Isa even ran into the side of a passing car in a panic as people approached to try to bring her in from the woods. When found, she reportedly had 80 ticks removed.

An announcement posted on this website on October 30 noted that Isa, a small black spaniel mix, had apparently been spotted near Farm Street and the high school and vocation technical school.
