5 Things: Teen Pizza and Movie Night, Shamrock Gala

Five things worth knowing today, March 16, 2012, in Wakefield, MA.

1. Last chilly day - Today will be rainy for most of the day, with a chance of thunderstorms both in the morning and again in the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. However, after today, temperatures will slowly climb, culminating in a very nice week next week with temperatures in the 70s.

2. Teen Pizza and Movie Night - The is holding a free pizza and movie night for area teenagers for both members and non-members of the club. The movie will be "Back to the Future."

3. Theater Show - The Wakefield Repertory Theatre has adapted "The Princess and the Pea" to reveal new insights into the characters in the classic fairytale about royal courtship.  See "Once Upon a Mattress" at the  tonight and tomorrow night at 8 p.m. Tickets are $18 for adults and $16 for students and seniors. 4. Shamrock Gala - This Sunday kicks off the annual Shamrock Gala at the Sheraton Colonial North from 2-6 p.m. A $25 ticket gets you entertainment in the form of an impersonator, a Fashion Show featuring spring fashions from Alano, J’Adore, Rada Boutique, Berkachi Bridal, and Florence’s Fashions. (Superintendent of Schools Joan Landers will be the MC for the fashion show,) a "Man Cave" for men AND women which will be showing the NCAA's March Madness games and will play host to a poker game. .

5. What's up for this weekend - In addition to the Teen Movie night, and Once Upon a Mattress, there are a few other events happening locally this weekend. On Friday, there's a for the Stoneham Theater, there's at at the Unitarian Universalist Church, on Saturday there's a at the Sons of Italy in Woburn, and there's a Friends of the Middlesex Fells in Melrose on Sunday.
