5 Things: Join in on Live WCAT Show Tonight

Five things to know today, Wednesday, May 16, 2012, in Wakefield, MA.

1. Last day of rain for a while - Today will be partly cloudy with potential for a shower in the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. Tempertures will be around 70 degrees. The rest of the week should be nice and sunny.

2. Today in Wakefield sports  - Boys varsity tennis plays Melrose at 3:30 p.m. at home, girls varsity tennis plays Melrose at 3:30 p.m. @ Melrose, boys varsity baseball plays Wilmington at 3:45 p.m. @ Wilmington, and girls varsity softball plays Wilmington at 6 p.m. at home.

3. Live WCAT Show - What better way to spend your Wednesday night than discussing current events and issues in town on live television? Tune in to 's Town Administrator's Report on tonight at 7 p.m. for a live call-in discussion program featuring Town Administrator Stephen Maio. The half an hour live show, which will be open to questions and comments via phone from Wakefield residents, will feature Maio and WCAT Producer David Watts, Jr. who will be discussing the opening session of Annual Town Meeting, the upcoming June 9th debt exclusion referendum, and the new Code Red reverse-911 system. Viewers are encouraged to participate in the discussion by calling into the program at 781.224.0300 and asking a question or making a comment.

4. Tickets on sale - Tickets are already on sale for the , which will take place on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Wakefield High School. The spring show features tenor soloist Jospeh Holmes. Tickets are just $15 each. Visit the Wakefield Choral Society's website for more details.

5. What's up for this weekend - The Beebe Library’s book discussion group, Books By the Lake, meets tonight at 7:30 p.m. in the lecture hall at the library.
