There are only two more weekends to sign the Tank the Gas Tax ballot referendum petition. This referendum would remove the automatic increase in the gas tax with inflation, scheduled to hit every January. If more money is needed for roads and bridges, it should be put up for a vote. Just think of all the other taxes the State House would love to tie to inflation if they get away with this. This referendum does not affect the 3-cent increase that was voted on and passed. That raised the gas tax from 21 cents to 24 cents per gallon.
