Jeremy Ben-Ami, President of J Street, will be sharing his thoughts on "U.S. Leadership in 2013: Advancing Israel's Peace and Security" on Monday, December 17 at 7:30 pm. The talk is part of Temple Israel's “Learn, Debate, and Engage” series.
Jeremy Ben-Ami is the founder and president of J Street. His passionate commitment to the state of Israel derives from a family connection to the country that goes back 130 years. His great-grandparents were among the first settlers in Petah Tikva, his grandparents were among the founding families of Tel Aviv, and his father was an activist and leader in the Irgun, working for Israel’s independence and on the rescue of European Jews before and during World War II. Ben-Ami is the author of A New Voice for Israel, published in 2011.
J Street is the political home for pro-Israel, pro-peace Americans to advocate for vigorous U.S. leadership to achieve a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and to broaden debate around Israel and the Middle East in national politics and the American Jewish community.
