Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours Networking

The Wakefield Area

Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a Business After Hours Networking featuring

Town Administrator Steve Maio and Superintendent of Schools Dr. Stephen Zrike

on Wednesday evening, January 22nd from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at

the Clarion Inn, 595 North Avenue in Wakefield. 

The networking opportunity is open to Chamber members and nonmembers.

 The speakers are expected to discuss the partnership between
the school system and the Town as well as some of the major projects that are
in the works, including the Galvin Middle School and the upgrading of the
recreational facilities and fields, among others. Town Administrator Maio is
also expected to touch upon the Main Street program and the potential for tax
breaks for business investments, while Dr. Zrike is expected to outline on his
vision for the future of education in Wakefield.
Business
After Hour Networking provides Chamber members and others the opportunity to
build relationships with other professionals while promoting local businesses,
according to Wakefield Area Chamber co-Presidents Suzanne Bowering and Cheryl
Carroll. 
“The January 22nd networking will provide
local business leaders and residents the opportunity to not only meet other
professionals and learn about the services and products they offer, it will
also enable them to hear from local officials about local issues that can havan effect on their business,” Chamber Business After Hours Chairman Jim Cobb
added. “We welcome all current and prospective members to join us at the event,
as well as those businesses and residents who want to learn more about the
leaders’ visions for the future.”


The
cost is $10 for Chamber members and $20 for nonmembers. Reservations are
required and can be made by calling Wakefield Area Chamber of Commerce
