Wakefield, MA- Again this year, Wakefield’s Holiday Stroll on December 7, 2013, will feature a Festival of Trees!

Last year’s outdoor raffle event will be moved indoors to the new location of the Wakefield Club in the Americal Civic Center at 467 Main Street, Wakefield, MA. We are looking for donated trees from charities, businesses, athletic or academic teams of any kind! Trees can come from families, friends, clubs, churches, civic or Scouting groups. It is a great group activity, sure to get participants in the holiday spirit. There is no entry fee. Prizes will be awarded in categories determined by participation.

Trees must be artificial, no shorter than 4 feet and no higher than 6 ft tall. Trees can be  traditional or creative. They can be any color or theme. Originality is encouraged! Tree decorating will take place at the Club in the Americal Civic Center on Friday, Dec 6th between 6 and 8 pm and on Saturday, Dec 7th between noon and 2 pm. You bring the tree and the decorations and your group can decorate on site. Holiday music and a festive environment will be provided as inspiration!

The tree display will open to visitors during the Holiday Stroll on December 7, 2013 from 3pm until 7pm. Admission to the event is $1 per person. Tickets are $1 per chance. Visitors can put their tickets in a box next to their favorite tree, in an attempt to win that tree!  Raffles will be pulled when the Stroll ends. Winners will be contacted and must pick up trees between 11am  and 1 pm on Sunday, Dec. 8th.  To participate, please email wakefieldfestoftrees@gmail.com or call 339-203-2515.  Event volunteers as well as tree decorator-donors are needed.
