The
Unitarian Universalist Church at 326 Main Street, Wakefield, will hold its
eleventh annual Holiday Craft Fair Friday evening, December 6, from 6 to 9 pm
and Saturday, December 7, from 9 am until 1 pm.
In addition to all the first rate crafts, there will be plenty to eat
and drink, so bring the family and your appetites and do some holiday shopping
while supporting local crafters. The
church is right across the street from the main post office.
The Mistletoe
Marketplace will host jewelers, wood carvers, and makers of hand sewn
items, holiday ornaments, herbal
remedies, body products, and inventive candy bouquets. This year we will have a professional potter
on hand, and visitors may try their hand on a pottery wheel. There will be a group of glass blowers from
the Diablo Glass Blowing Studio in Boston, and a Wakefield based bee keeper
will be selling her beeswax candles and lip balm. Need a Pampered Chef or Tastefully Simple
product? Representatives from both
companies will be there, too, along with Rada Knives. Our own craft table will
offer catnip mice, hand knit mittens,
angel ornaments, and home made jams and baked goods will be available at the
bake table.
Friday
evening, the UU Cafe will have a selection of delicious sandwiches and soups
for sale, as well as hot and cold beverages for all ages. Saturday morning, we will be serving warm
muffins and hot drinks. Don't forget to
enter to win one of several Mistletoe Marketplace Raffle Baskets, too. Drawings will be after the fair closes
Saturday; winners will be called that afternoon. Shop locally, support local
artists and craftsmen, and avoid the madness at the malls. Admission is free.
