Winter is a Warm and Loving Adolescent

Will you adopt this friendly cat?

My name is Winter, but I am not the least bit like that season. I am all spring, sweet and happy and loving, the kind of kitty who will sit on your lap and purr and purr. The kind of girl who likes to be scratched, rubbed, and petted in all those good cat spots (ears, chin, neck, etc.). In this very cold end of January, I am a tiger who will bring a lot of warmth into your home.

Did I say tiger? Not a real one silly! I am actually a torbie because of my range of colors (orange, brown, grey, cream) mixed with tiger stripes. Did I mention I am young? Maybe 8 months old. Some would say that is an awkward age, stuck between childhood and adulthood. But I would say it is the perfect age. I have all the energy and fun of a kitten, but I am starting to think that I need to act a bit more adult now that I am growing up. Wait is that a feather? I have to go chase it. Oops…were we talking about my maturity?

Being young, I can also be a bit cautious when I meet new people and situations. I get over that quickly, however, and if you adopt me you will soon learn one of my favorite things to do is sit on your lap and purr. If I fall asleep, I may be dreaming about snuggling with you on your bed. I haven’t gotten to do that yet at my foster home. But I really think it might be cozy. I know that playing with you will be fun, and can certainly warm us up on these icy days when you will want to stay inside with me. Are you up for a game of squiggle string or chase the laser light? I am. And, I know that, one day, I am going to catch that red dot, for sure. At any rate, I intend to keep trying as long as you are willing to make it move. Of course I do get tired and I will need my beauty rest. Maybe we can nap together? On your bed?  On your sofa? In your lap?

Did I mention I have a beautiful mother named Lightning? She is a lot like me, only she is black, about two years old, and has double paws. If you came to meet me you might also like to meet her. Like me, she tends to be cautious at first. But she is also a real lap cat and a sweetheart of a girl. Everyone says so, not just me. You can see her picture on the PAWS website. Or just come to meet me and you can meet her as well. We don’t need to be adopted together.  But we could be. I always say family is important and I know you will want to meet mine.

Right now, I am living in a foster home where there are other cats and dogs. I am not too happy about the dogs. They make me nervous. I am not saying no to a household with dogs, but you would have some work to do to make me feel secure. Other cats? Well, as long as they are not really aggressive and let me take my time getting to know them, I think I could adapt to that. I could also be happy as an only cat or I could be adopted with my Mom. You can discuss all this with my foster. She knows all my likes and dislikes. Of course, what I would really like most of all is to meet you. So call me now. I am dreaming about you already.
