This weekend: Final farmer's market of 2012, a Halloween dance for a local nonprofit, and the cooking librarian.

 

Good morning. Here are some things worth knowing this Friday, October 19, 2012.

Last Farmer’s Market: Tomorrow is the final scheduled Wakefield Farmer’s Market of the 2012 season. The farmers market runs 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays from June through October at Hall Park, North Ave. Wendy Dennis has a full rundown of the day here.

The Cooking Librarian: Also tomorrow morning in Wakefield – Join the “Cooking Librarian” at the Beebe Library Lecture Hall from 10:30 a.m. to noon for a presentation on fall cooking and more. Click here for more information.

Halloween Dance: Tomorrow, October 20 from 7 to 11 p.m., local nonprofit group BKP (Bagong Kulturang Pinoy/New Filipino Culture) has a Halloween fundraising dance at the Wakefield Elks Club. The group sends donated books to stock libraries in impoverished communities in the Philippines. Tickets are $35 for adults and $20 for children and will feature dinner by Chef Jacky Roberts of Petit Robert, as well as a Halloween costume contest, auction and raffle, and a DJ and dancing.
