Things to Know: Registration for The Dance Studio of Wakefield's Summer Dance Camp is Open

A few news tidbits worth knowing today including: community, schools, town and business. There's something for everyone.

 

Here are a few things worth knowing Monday, June 25, 2012:

Weather: Today will be cloudy with a high around 71 degrees. There will be a 70 percent chance of showers and there will be a possibility of thunderstorms after 10 a.m., according to the National Weather Service.

Sports: Registration for the  Summer Dance Camps are now open, and dancers of all ages interested in signing up can do so for only $40!

The Dance Studio of Wakefield offers a variety of fun Summer Camps for all ages and abilities! The studio offers “Mommy and Me” Classes and princess camps, as well as open technique classes for older students. Registration is ongoing. Register online at www.dancestudioofwakefield.com.

Government: The Board of Selectmen will meet tonight at 7:30 p.m. in the first floor conference room.

This week the Selectmen will be discussing water and sewer rates in town, which is only item on this week’s agenda. Residents who wish to view the agenda can do so here. 

Library: The recently changed its software and catalog system, and will be holding a group session tonight to teach patrons how to use the new system.

The session will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and patrons will be walked through the new system and taught how to fully utilize it. All members of the public are welcome and the session is free.

Community: The Wakefield Independence Day Committee, which has organized the 4th of July Parade for over 20 years, is holding a raffle to raise money for the parade, and the grand prize are two tickets to the Red Sox vs. Yankees game on July 7.

The tickets will be good for two seats in a private suite, plus valet parking. Tickets are being sold for $20 each at on Main Street, or directly from committee members. For more information, call Cindy Schatz at 781-258-2902.
