Things to Know: Downtown Stores Open Late Tonight, Tickets on Sale for Festival Italia Dinner

Here are a few things worth knowing on Thursday, July 26, 2012:
Weather: Today will be cloudy with a high near 83 degrees and a 60 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain and thunderstorms.
Business: Several Wakefield businesses are open later on Thursday nights during the summer: , Butterfly Yarns, , (who encourages dogs and their humans to attend), , , and will each be open until 8 p.m., and some stores will even have refreshments.

Community: Tickets are now on sale for the Friday night Festival Italia Dinner Buffet to be held on August 10th from 6 - 10 p.m. Included in the price is a cocktail hour from 6-7 p.m. and an Italian all-you-can eat dinner buffet from 7 - 10:30 p.m. featuring Wakefield's restaurants. Tickets will only be sold in advance (not at the door) and there are a limited number available. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased at the Wakefield Daily Item on Albion Street or by emailing wakefieldepc@gmail.com.
Kids' Activities: The Wakefield Recreation Department has openings in the following programs for next week (July 30-Aug3): Jr Pro Golf, Tennis, Boys and Girls Bonus Week, Rollerblade Hockey, Wicked Amazing Art, On Broadway, and Ultimate Frisbee.
