Things to Know: 5K Fun Run Around Lake Quannapowitt
A few news tidbits worth knowing today including: community, schools, town and business. There's something for everyone.
Here are a few things worth knowing today, Wednesday, June 20, 2012:
Weather: Today will be hot, with temperatures reaching a high of 98 degrees. It will be mostly sunny after some early morning fog clears, according to the National Weather Service.
Community: The Mystic Runners Club will hold its weekly 5K Fun Run tonight at 6:45 p.m., starting at the at 595 North Street.

Runners willing to brave the wilting heat should arrive early to register. The race costs $2 to enter and runners will be timed. The results will be posted on www.coolrunning.com following the race.
Government: Town Administrator Stephen Maio will host his monthly Town Administrator’s Report tonight on WCAT at 7 p.m. Maio and producer David Watts, Jr. will discuss issues affecting Wakefield residents, and viewers are encouraged to participate by calling in at 781-224-0300.

Viewers can tune in to WCAT on Channel 16 (Comcast), 13 (RCN) or 42 (Verizon).
Arts: The will host a Decorative Painting Class today from noon until 3 p.m. Marilyn Mambuca will teach the class and participants will learn to paint on glass, slate, cloth or anything else.
The Senior Center is located at 30 Converse Street in Wakefield and each session costs $6.
Community: Call back auditions for The production of “Bye Bye Birdie” will be held tonight at 7 p.m. at the Wakefield-Lynnfield United Methodist Church.
"Bye Bye Birdie" will be presented at Wakefield-Lynnfield United Methodist Church on Sept. 21, 22, 23, 28, 29 and 30. Rehearsals will take place in Wakefield on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday evenings. The show will be directed and choreographed by Diana Kole with music direction by Joseph Nuccio.
