Strong Winds Forecast for All Day Sunday

Wind gusts could hit up to 50 mph and the strongest winds are expected during the afternoon and evening.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for Sunday, lasting morning until night for blustery winds that could take down large tree limbs and possibly cause some isolated power outages.

The advisory is in effect across much of Southern New England from 9 a.m. - 10 p.m. Westerly winds of 15-25 mph are expected with gusts up to 50 mph.

"The strongest winds should occur this afternoon and evening," says the NWS.

The NWS says wind gusts that strong are capable of knocking down small tree limbs and branches, possibly leading to some isolated power outages.

Driving may also be difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles.
