Five Things You Need To Know: November 27

A look at upcoming events and activities in Wakefield.

Good morning, today is Tuesday, Nov. 27. Here are five things you need to know.

Band Of Liberty: On Friday, Dec. 7 at 7 p.m., the U.S. Air Force Band of Liberty is coming to play a free concert at Galvin Middle School.  The band is reportedly set to be deactivated in July of 2013, so check them out while you can. Click here for more information.

A Cappella: This Wednesday evening, the Dartmouth College Cords, led by Andrew Hannigan of Wakefield, perform an a cappella concert at the Savings Bank Theater at Wakefield High School. Local a cappella group Blue of a Kind also performs. Tickets are $15 at the door, $10 for students and seniors.

Calling All Mystery Lovers: Tonight at 6 p.m., the “Supper Sleuths” group of mystery novel enthusiasts meets at the Beebe Memorial Library.

Town Business: The Wakefield selectmen meet tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the Wakefield Cable Access TV Studio, Hemlock Road. This meeting was erroneously noted as taking place on Monday earlier this week.

A Civil War Christmas: Coming up on Sunday, Dec. 23 at 7:30 p.m., the Unitarian Universalist Church and the Standing Room Only Concert Series present “A Civil War Christmas” featuring various performers doing selections from this crucial time in American history. Click here for more information.
