The annual Holiday Stroll is downtown this Saturday.

Today is Friday, Nov. 30. Here are five things you need to know.

Holiday Stroll: The annual Holiday Stroll is on Saturday in downtown Wakefield, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. – Starting with a 3 p.m. Hat Parade at the Americal Civic Center.  The Wakefield Event Planning Committee has a full events calendar on its website here.

PAWS: This Saturday and Sunday (Dec. 1 and 2) you can help support PAWS, a Wakefield-based nonprofit specializing in pet adoption, by getting your pet’s photo taken with Santa at the Danvers PetSmart (104 Andover Street, Route 114) from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Receive a 4x6 photo in a holiday collector frame for $9.95 and PetSmart will donate $5 to PAWS. Chris Herren: The Wakefield Warrior Club has announced that former NBA player Chris Herren will speak in Wakefield on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at 7:00PM at the Galvin Middle School Auditorium about his battles with substance abuse. The event will be open to the entire community and will be free of charge. Click here for more information.

Holiday Party: State Rep. Paul Brodeur is having a holiday party and toy drive on Wednesday, Dec. 5 at the Dockside Restaurant at 1099 Main Street. The event runs from 6:30 to 9 p.m. and the party is free although it is also a campaign fundraising event. Email Paul@paulbrodeur.com to RSVP.
