Five Things You Need To Know: Jan. 18

Today is Friday, January 18th. Here are five things you need to know.

Peter Sheridan: The next Peter Sheridan Sing-Along for kids aged 5 and under is Saturday, Jan. 19 at 10:30 a.m. at the Beebe Library in downtown Wakefield. Wakefield residents can get free tickets at the library’s youth room desk the week before the show, while residents of other towns can get tickets the day of the concert. Meditation Retreat:
Coming up on Saturday, January 26th, the Unitarian Universalist Church in downtown Wakefield is holding a Midwinter Meditation Retreat starting at 10:30 a.m. Try Qi Gong, walking  meditation, singing meditation, and more. More information here.

Martin Luther King Jr Birthday Party: Today at 3:30 p.m., the _Lynnfield Library_ is holding a birthday party in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Librarians will read Dr. King’s “I Have A Dream” speech from a new picture book illustrated by Kadir Nelson. Light refreshments will be served.

Boston Children's Hospital Fundraiser: Local resident Tracy Ellsworth is raising money for Boston Children’s Hospital this spring by running in the Boston Marathon and also with an upcoming comedy night fundraiser at Giggles (in Prince Restaurant) on Route 1 in Saugus. Tickets are $20, the night features three comedians, and unlimited pizza. Proceeds benefit Boston Children’s Hospital. Click here for more information.
