Five Things You Need To Know: Feb. 27

WHS hockey plays Andover in a 7:30 playoff game in Stoneham. Two more superintendent finalists have public interviews tonight.

Today is Wednesday, February 27th. Here are five things you need to know.

Town Business: A special school committee meeting tonight at the Savings Bank, 351 Main Street, will see two school superintendent finalists interviewed. Dr. Bonny Gifford is interviewed at 6 p.m., while Mr. Peter Cohen is scheduled to be interviewed at 8 p.m.

MIAA Tournament: The Wakefield High School hockey team plays Andover tonight at Stoneham at 7:30 p.m. in an MIAA tournament first-round game. Wakefield is a #7 seed and Andover is a #10 seed. The winner goes on to play Winchester on March 3rd.

Virtual Visit to Kenya: Tonight at 7 p.m., Bill Gette is at the Beebe Library for a talk about his visit to Kenya.

Meet Julia Child: Looking ahead to next month, the Delvena Theatre Company presents “Meet Julia Child” at the McCarthy Senior Center on Friday, April 5th at 1 p.m. The presentation focuses on the life of Julia Child followed by a discussion. Lunch is at noon for $3. Reservations required. 781-245-3312.
