Today is Wednesday, February 20th. Here are five things you need to know.

MIAA Wrestling: Wakefield High School is hosting the MIAA Division 3 State Wrestling Tournament this week, with finals set for 5 p.m. today. The all-state wrestling championships are this weekend at Salem State University.

Interfaith Food Pantry: In a recent email update to mailing list members, the Wakefield Interfaith Food Pantry provided some data on its work for the community. Residents may be interested to know that since July, the pantry has served 410 households and distributes an average of 16,000 pounds of food each month.

Linden Tree Coffeehouse: The next Linden Tree Coffeehouse performance is on Saturday March 2 at the Unitarian Universalist Church downtown when Canadian folk singer/songwriter James Keelaghan performs. Show is 8 p.m. and tickets are $18. Click here for more information.

Polar Plunge: On Saturday, February 23rd, members of the Wakefield Rotary will join members from other communities for the annual Rotary Polar Plunge in Gloucester. The event was postponed from last weekend because of the blizzard.  For more information, visit the Wakefield Rotary website here.

One-Act Play Festival: Coming up on Thursday, February 28th and Thursday, March 7th, check out “Scenes From American Life,” which is Wakefield High School’s submission in the Massachusetts Educational Theater Guild’s One-Act Play Festival. The students also perform in the preliminary round of the competition on Saturday, March 2 at 10 a.m. at Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School.
