Lecture Series: Tomorrow night (Wednesday), a free lecture series commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Americal Civic Center gets underway. John Wall will give a presentation on “The Remarkable Cyrus Wakefield” starting at 7 p.m. Other lectures continue through the spring. Click here for more information.

Need a hand with your taxes? The AARP Foundation Tax Aide offers help, with a particular focus on those over the age of 60 with a low to middle income. You can make an appointment at the Wakefield Senior Center for Wednesdays by calling 781-245-3312. Click here for more information.

There’s a bowl-a-thon coming up in May to benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Stoneham and Wakefield. There’s plenty of time to get involved with the event, which takes place at the Wakefield Bowladrome on Sunday, May 19th. Click here for full information.

Historical Society: On February 19th at 7:30 p.m. at the Old Meeting House in Lynnfield Center, the Lynnfield Historical Society welcomes  author/journalist Stephanie Schorow for a talk on the Coconut Grove fire, which killed 492 people in Boston in 1942 and which influences law and other areas to this day.
