Today is Friday, February 15th. Here are five things you need to know.

WHS Theater: Coming up on Thursday, February 28th and Thursday, March 7th, check out “Scenes From American Life,” which is Wakefield High School’s submission in the Massachusetts Educational Theater Guild’s One-Act Play Festival. The students also perform in the preliminary round of the competition on Saturday, March 2 at 10 a.m. at Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School.

Linden Tree Coffeehouse: This Saturday, February 16th, the next Linden Tree Coffeehouse event features Janet Feld’s CD release party. Esther Friedman opens. Tickets are $16. Click here for more information about the event and the artists.

Wakefield Democrats have their caucus this Saturday, February 16th at the Americal Civic Center with doors opening at 9 a.m.. Delegates to the 2013 state convention will be selected. Click here for more information.

Try Hockey For Free: Coming up on Saturday, February 16th – Wakefield Youth Skating Association (WYSA) and Hockey USA are offering a Try Hockey for Free event with an 8:30 a.m. sign up and 9 to 10 a.m. ice session at Hockey Town on Route 1 in Saugus.  Bring warm clothes, winter gloves, ice skates, a helmet (hockey type preferred) and a stick. WYSA will also have a limited amount of protective gear. Registration is also at www.tryhockeyforfree.com.

Cocoanut Grove Fire Presentation: On February 19th at 7:30 p.m. at the Old Meeting House in Lynnfield Center, the Lynnfield Historical Society welcomes  author/journalist Stephanie Schorow for a talk on the Coconut Grove fire, which killed 492 people in Boston in 1942 and which influences law and other areas to this day.
