A Note From Nazareth Academy: Join Nazareth Academy in celebration of Catholic Schools week for a Community Open House. Experience the advantages of what this All-girls academy has to offer. MIAA Wrestling:
This weekend, the MIAA High School Division 3 state wrestling championships are at Wakefield Memorial High School, starting at 2 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. on Saturday.

Children's Book Donations Sought: Local nonprofit group BKP, which sends donated children’s books to libraries in the Philippines, reports that it could use some gently used elementary and preschool level storybooks. To donate books, contact Liz Freeman at781-246-2836, LindenTree85@comcast.net. In addition, monetary donations are always appreciated, as is any kind of help from new volunteers.

Mah Jong: On Thursday, February 7th from 7 to 8:45 p.m., stop by the Beebe Library’s program room if you’d like to learn to play Mah Jong.

Winter Bird Count: This weekend (Feb. 2-3), Mass. Audubon has their annual winter bird count statewide. The volunteer survey invites participants to list individual bird species and the greatest number of each seen at one time at their feeders and in their yards during that Saturday and Sunday. Record one count for each species seen then submit the simple report form to Mass Audubon. Participants’ names will be entered in a drawing to win one of several prizes. Deadline for submissions is Thursday, February 28.  Information on how to participate and submit reports can be found at www.massaudubon.org/focus. Last year, nearly 100 species were reported in 292 communities statewide, thanks to more than 850 observers.

Sushi Island Jam Session: On the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month, Sushi Island, located at 397 Main Street downtown, holds a jam session from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Bring your instruments and your voices. 1 drink minimum. Sunday, February 3rd and February 17th. Call 781-224-3479 for more information.
