Weather: Showers are in the forecast between now and Wednesday. So drive carefully and plan to leave a little extra time during the morning commute. National Weather Service forecast calls for local skies to clear up by Thursday.

Winter Solstice: This Friday at 7 p.m.  at the Unitarian Universalist Church on Main Street in Wakefield – drop in for the church’s Winter Solstice Bicentennial celebration, featuring music, readings and more. Click here for more information.

Civil War Christmas: Coming up on Sunday, Dec. 23 at 7:30 p.m., the Unitarian Universalist Church and the Standing Room Only Concert Series present “A Civil War Christmas” featuring various performers doing selections from this crucial time in American history. Click here for more information.

Coffee House: In neighboring Lynnfield, the Lynnfield Community Church on Salem Street, right near Route 1, has been having coffeehouse events twice a month featuring a good range of local musicians.
